Sadržaj: I will present the notion of upper curvature bound on geodesic metric spaces, which is due to A. D. Alexandrov. We will discuss some basic properties and examples of CAT(0) spaces, i.e. the spaces satisfying Alexandrov's curvature condition.
Groups, acting properly and cocompactly on CAT(0) spaces, are of special interest for geometric group theorist. I will try to present how to deduce some algebraic properties of such groups from their geometric action.
