Naslov predavanja: A CHEMICAL KINETIC APPROACH FOR THE STUDY OF THE ONE DIMENSIONAL DETONATION WAVE AND ITS STABILITY

Apstrakt: In this talk some mathematical methods for the Boltzmann equation in the context of chemically reactive gases will be presented. Starting from a kinetic description of the particle interactions we use the Boltzmann equation to model the evolution of a reactive system in a mesoscopic scale. When passing to the hydrodynamical limit in a certain regime, we obtain the reactive Euler equations that are used to study the propagation and stability of steady detonation waves.

Experimental studies show that detonation waves tend to be structurally unstable, therefore it is important to understand and predict the formation of instabilities. This is a complex and lengthy process and new technical procedures can be very useful in the stability analysis. We will present here some contributions in this direction.
