Naslov predavanja: FATIGUE EVALUATION FOR CRACK-LIKE DAMAGES USING LOW CYCLIC PARAMETERS

Apstrakt: The stress-concentration phenomenon that appears at critical zones, where geometrical discontinuities exist, may endanger the load bearing capacity of mechanical systems, due to the formation of crack-like flaws. Therefore, to prevent such a harmful effect caused by nonlinear stress field, the fatigue behaviour of damaged notches (holes, cut-outs, grooves) should be analyzed employing the reliable computational models. The presentation examines failure endurance of notched configurations  through analytical and numerical models. The fatigue response of material  is evaluated taking into account low cyclic parameters. Further, driving  forces are numerically simulated by means of finite elements. Relevant fracture mechanics-based relationships for the effective stress-intensity factor and residual life are determined in the case of through-the-thickness crack growth. Then they are verified through experimental observations and some applications are discussed.
